The Pedagogy Department at Jimma University was established to give professional courses to various students across faculties and colleges of the university. The Pedagogy Department was first established with two Ethiopian teaching staff with M.A degree in curriculum and instruction. Now the department has 14 full time staff. Up to now the department has no students to train in pedagogical science or in educational planning and management based on regular bases, but during the summer the department offers secondary school principal ship training at advanced diploma level.
The department has a plan to open a degree program in Educational Planning and Management.
