The Department of Physics was upgraded from former physics unit organized under “Basic Sciences Program’’ in 1993 E. C. (200 G.C.) In 1994 E.C(2001 G.C.) with the birth of the Faculty of Education, it was organized as the Department of Physics and accepted thirty-eight physics major students and started offering physics courses to the first batch in the history of the university. The department runs a three-year B Ed. Program in physics. Students in the department are required to meet the following minimum requirement. The department now hosts nearly 380 physics major students in the regular, extension and in-service programs.
